One of the oldest and largest Zen temples in Japan and some historical buildings dating back to the 1300’s.
Famous for autumn leaves from its over 2,000 maple trees
At one of the temple buildings, Hojo, visitors can admire a variety gardens designed by Mirei Shigemori, well-known garden designer.

Stop At: Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, 68 Fukakusa Yabunouchicho, Fushimi-ku, Kyoto 612-0882 Kyoto Prefecture

Fushimi Inari is the most important of all the shrines in Japan dedicated to Inari, the god of rice and business, and was first built in the 8th century.
It is now one of the most popular spots in Kyoto with stunning path covered with thousands of red torii gates.

Stop At: Gion, Kyoto 605-0074 Kyoto Prefecture

One of the most famous spots in Kyoto and the heart of unique Maiko and Geisha culture. The streets are filled with shops, restaurants and ochaya where Maiko and Geisha perform. Gion is beautiful at night when lanterns are lit.

The Yasui Kompira-gu is popular amongst young women who want to break off a bad relationship.
The very unique ritual of crawling through a hole in the paper covered stone is performed here.

Founded over 1350 years ago, Yasaka shrine is one of the most famous shrines in Kyoto.
The famous festival, Gion Matsuri is held there in July every year. Hundreds of lanterns are lit in the evenings.

Stop At: Pontocho District, Nakagyo-Ku BetweenKamogawa and Kiyamachi-dori, Kyoto Kyoto Prefecture

Pontocho alley is filled with a variety of restaurants and bars, ranging from inexpensive to gourmet cuisine. It is the most atmospheric dining street in Kyoto.
