Stop At: Higashiyama Jisho-ji, 2 Ginkakujichō, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto, 606-8402, Japan

The starting point of the Philosopher’s path. It is a temple as famous as “Kinkaku-ji”. “Kinaku-ji” means the golden temple and it actually is golden, but Ginkakuji which means the silver temple isn’t covered with silver. Feel the Japanese traditional beauty!

Stop At: きんとぎん, 15-6 Ginkakujimaechō, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto, 606-8407, Japan

Hakusho KinGin: A shop where you can have soft serve with a piece of gold or silver leaf on it! You can choose between gold and silver. imagine how it tastes!

Stop At: Philosopher’s Walk, Sakyo-ku between Ginkakuji and Nyakuoji-jinja, Kyoto Kyoto Prefecture

A beautiful path with rich greenery along a river. It is really famous among locals and is a perfect place to stroll while being lost in thought. Cherry blossoms in spring, fireflies in summer, and autumn leaves in fall are amazing!

A café ran by the company which has invented the Japanese blotting papers. They have renovated a traditional Japanese house and you can have Japanese tea while watching the Japanese garden from your seat. The telephone booth in front of the café is also worth checking. It is said that if you call someone you love from this telephone booth, your love will reach him.

A spot where Japanese-ish pieces of art are exhibited in a small shop which is a part of the shopkeeper’s house. They have postcards with Japanese painting and designs unique to Japan which makes it a perfect spot to buy your souvenirs!

Stop At: Otoyo Shrine, 1 Shishigatanimiyanomaecho, Sakyo-Ku, Kyoto 606-8424 Kyoto Prefecture

There are many unique shrines in Kyoto and this spot is one of them! It is located alongside the Philosopher’s Path which is really famous as a tourist spot, but this shrine is not too crowded and still worth visiting! Shrines usually have a statue of dogs made from stone but this spot has a rat version of it which is original to this shrine! There are also many other animals made from stone in its premise.

Stop At: Nanzenji Suirokaku, Nanzenjifukuchicho, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto 606-8435 Kyoto Prefecture

A temple which is said to be special among all the temples in Kyoto! You can climb on the gate which is like an observatory and have a panoramic view of Kyoto city. Don’t miss the photogenic spots such as the beautiful garden and the Biwakososui River which is essential to the history of the modern Kyoto!
