I understand. You’ve heard of Gion but you don’t know where to go and what to do when you get there.
I’ve taken many clients just like you, on small intimate tours of Gion. They were worried about missing out on seeing the geisha, finding a good restaurant etc. Let a Kyoto Insider like myself, help you discover local authentic Gion.
On foot, we explore Gion, one of Kyoto’s most captivating areas. During our 2 hour tour we explore the geisha district and I share personal stories of my interactions with geisha, beginning with apprentice geisha-maiko, all the way up to mama-san or heads of houses, customers etc. I break it down the whole Geisha world into simple terms, plus give you insider tips on how to tell real geisha apart from other people wearing kimono.
While I can’t guarantee you’ll see maiko or geisha, my tour gives you the best chance of seeing one along our walk.
After our walk, I’ll take you to an Izakaya (Japanese style pub/restaurant), only an insider like myself would know where you can eat like the locals.
