Akiyoshidai Tourism Exchange Center: This is the tourism centre of Akiyoshidai, right in front of the bus stop. The centre has coin lockers and a waiting area for buses, and is open to everyone. Stop by the information centre first and choose your favourite bike from the many available!

Akiyoshidai: The largest karst limestone plateau in Japan, located in the mid-west of Yamaguchi prefecture. It is a designated national park and special natural monument. Take a stroll through this natural wonder, which has been around for longer than mankind itself, and feel the passage of time.

Chōjagamori Forest: It is the only primeval forest on the vast plateau. In the forest, you can find more than 60 species of plants, the remains of an old well, and a spring pond. Legend has it that an ochimusha (a defeated warrior who fled the enemy) of the Heike clan, who was defeated at the Battle of Dannoura, once settled in this mysterious place.

Mine Akiyoshidai Geopark Centre Karstar: This is a tourist information centre and free rest stop in Akiyoshidai. It has a coffee stand and is a great spot to enjoy a view of Akiyoshidai from the cafe’s large windows. Enjoy a relaxing cup of tea to soothe your tired body and prepare you for the cycling journey back.

Kanko-kaikan Yasutomiya: Located on the souvenir shop street leading to Akiyoshido, this hall has a restaurant on the ground floor, famous for its burdock noodle soup, a speciality of Akiyoshi, which has won first prize in the Yamaguchi Gastronomy Collection. It is the perfect lunch for a tired body after a workout.
