Fushimi Inari's main entrance is hard to navigate due to a lot of people, but by walking through the mountains, we will see Fushimi Inari from a new perspective, away from the crowd. -Return to civilization after a breathtaking view atop the mountains of Fushimi Inari From here on, we will explore tourist areas on the way to the top of the mountain. You will hike 2-3 hours along the old Tokaido highway some on cobbled paths and some on forest trails between Hakone Yumoto and Lake Ashi. Some part of this path is off-the-beaten track and we normally have the forest for ourselves. This part of the Hachiri has the best preserved cobbled path and more primitive forests. You will hike past the wood crafting village of Hakone - Hatajuku and we skip the steepest part of the trail by bus and reach a teahouse that has a history of 400 years. After an energising amasake, we will continue our hike to Lake Ashi where if you are lucky, you can have a picture with Mt Fuji and the lake view. The Hakone checkpoint is our last stop where you will understand the significance of Hakone in the history of Japan. At the end of the tour, you can then catch a bus or a ferry (pirate ship) to your next destination at around 1pm.

The most unique aspect of this tour is that it takes you off the beaten path. These paths are originally created by wild animals, and following them gives us a true sense of the wilderness. There is a high likelihood of encountering wild animals along the way. If there is enough snow, we will use snowshoes, allowing us to walk anywhere on the snow. Sometimes, you can even spot the footprints of animals on the surface of the snow.

【This tour is available only for the clients who are coming to Kawaguchiko area themselves or already staying in the area 】 The Ochudo (trail) is an ancient trail of about 25 km(15 miles) for hiking around the 5th Station and was used as a training path for Mt.Fuji worship. It is said that only people who ascended Mt. Fuji three times were allowed to walk this trail. Now we can enjoy walking on the part of the trail 2.5km (1.5miles) and seeing pine trees, the peak of Mt. Fuji and the spectacular view of the world below! The trail has only gentle slopes and it takes 1.5-2 hours so the tour is a perfect option for the people who want to experience Mt.Fuji casually. We offer free rental equipment so outdoor beginers and tourists who don't have own outdoor gear are welcomed!

You will hike around 8km in this trip and visit Lake Ashi, the Hachiri heritage path, Yamanaka Castle Ruins, Genbe River. The transportation between the sites is either on foot or by local bus. The guide will give you background of this historical part of Japan. You will traverse the Hakone Mountain like Edo period travellers and see Mt Fuji from different angles while you walk if weather permits. Hakone Hachiri is a Japan Heritage where you can experience how people traveled during Edo period (17th century). It is a part of the Old Tokaido Highway including the steep slope of Hakone mountains. Our Hakone Hachiri tour starts from Hakone Yumoto. We hike and take the bus to visit Amasake Tea House and walk on the cobble stone path to Lake Ashi where we will see the lake, Mt Fuji and the Torii gate of Hakone Shrine. After lunch near the Hakone Checkpoint, we take a bus to skip the temporally closed part and then resume the walk towards Mishima. Mishima Station is our ending point.

Kamikochi is a popular resort in the Northern Japan Alps, offering some of Japan's most spectacular mountain scenery.
