Tokyo Art and Culture Tour

Discover Japanese fine artworks at galleries in some of Tokyo’s vibrant and trendy areas, Daikanyama, Nakameguro, and Denenchofu. You can appreciate modern and contemporary artworks, enjoy shopping at unique shops along the Meguro River, and visit an awesome gallery in a Japanese-style house in Denenchofu.

Go to Shibuya Hikarie 1 Floor, Main Entrance, and look for a guide showing a signboard with your name.

Take the Tokyu Toyoko Line from Shibuya to Denenchofu. It takes about 20 minutes and take a walk for 5 minutes. First, we will visit Denenchofu, an affluent neighborhood situated above the Tamagawa River. This area exudes a quiet, residential feel because the neighborhood design was made with an English urban planning concept incorporating natural element. Mizoe Gallery is an awesome gallery in a Japanese-style house. You can fully experience artworks by Japanese artists as if you are at home.

After Mizoe Gallery, we return to the Denenchofu Station to take a train to Nakameguro. Walk 5 minutes to Sato Sakura Museum from the station. This art museum showcases Japanese-style paintings depicting cherry blossoms by Japanese artists. If you missed the cherry blossom season you can enjoy a variety of Sakura pictures featuring famous Sakura spots in Japan.

After the Sato Sakura Museum, we visit the N & A Art Site to see the Japanese contemporary Arts. It is only a 5-minute walk from the Sato Sakura Museum. Also, we walk around the area to enjoy window shopping at the trendy shops.

We have lunch at the Daikanyama area, where there are a variety of eateries, cafes, and restaurants.

T-Site is a literary complex featuring a wide variety of art and culture, comprising a bookstore, cafe, and retail stores. T-Site is more than just a bookstore. You will find books, movies, music, stationery and even travel desk.

Art Front Gallery is actively engaged in all aspects of art. They promote artworks created from a global perspective.

Nakameguro is one of Tokyo’s trendiest neighborhoods and is well-known for the cherry blossoms along the Meguro River in spring. The river is a photogenic landscape and is home to eateries, unique shops, and cafes.

Yamada Heiando is a purveyor of lacquerware to Japanese imperial household. It is a Japanese lacquerware brand with more than 90 years of history. The extensive lineup ranges from tableware to jewelry boxes.
