Awa Deko Museum: This is a place where you can fully enjoy the world of Awa Ningyo Joruri, a performing art form that developed uniquely in Tokushima by combining a puppet show and musical theatre. The museum displays valuable materials, especially the costumes of the puppets, called “Deku” (wooden dolls), showcasing the traditions of Japan.

Awa Odori Hall: This is a facility where you can learn about Awa Odori dance, one of Japan’s most popular traditional performing arts. Professional dancers perform here, giving you the feeling of a real festival. It is also a great place to experience the dance with guidance.

Made using traditional methods, the beauty of the objects, filled with the skills of craftsmen, is captivating. The traditional pottery is also made to be used in modern lifestyles, and you can purchase your favourite pieces directly from the shop.

Tōrin-in Temple: A temple with a history of nearly 1300 years, it is associated with the Ohenro, a typical Buddhist pilgrimage in Japan. This is a precious spot where you can talk to monks and learn about the world of Buddhism from practitioners.
