・Japanese musical instrument workshop
You will learn how to play traditional Japanese musical instrument Koto or Shamisen by the instructor in a Japanese-style room covered with tatami mats. In the former half (30 min.) of the session, the instructor will explain about the instrument and give a model performance. In the latter half (30 min.), you will practice it with the instructor and actually play the instrument on your own.

【The charm of Koto】
Koto is a traditional musical instrument of Japan with13 strings and is played by plucking the strings using three finger picks. There many famous pieces of music for Koto that even beginners can learn and play easily in a short time. Let’s get familiar with the rich world of Koto. The refined and elegant tone of Koto gained high popularity also in foreign countries.
【The charm of Shamisen】
Shamisen is a three-stringed musical instrument played with a plectrum called a bachi. It is important to hold Japanese musical instruments rightly and play it according to the method to generate a nice sound.
