Private Japanese Cooking and Udon Making Class in Tokyo near Asakusa with Masako

Sumida City Trip Overview

Meet Masako at Hikifune Station and walk to her apartment. You will be welcomed with a cup of green tea and watch as she writes your name in Japanese calligraphy (she is a qualified calligraphy professional!) Masako loves hosting children and would be happy to teach them origami or provide them with some fun activities related to Japanese culture.

Next join Masako in her kitchen and learn to cook authentic Japanese recipes from scratch including udon. You’ll knead the dough with your hands (and feet) and turn it into noodles. It is hard work but worth it to get heavenly homemade udon noodles, far superior to store-bought ones. Other options for your main comprise okonomiyaki or tempura. Please let Masako know if you prefer okonomiyaki or tempura instead of udon when creating your booking. Dishes will be cooked using fresh, seasonal ingredients from the farmers market in Niigata. After cooking, you will enjoy a sit-down meal that ends with a sweet dessert.
