You will also enjoy “Kamishibai” picture story show to start with. It helps you to understand more about Japanese fermented food culture.

First, you will enjoy watching a Kamishibai (Japanese picture story show) introducing Japanese fermented foods made from ”Koji” micro-organism.
You will learn how to cook rice without using a rice cooker and also cook “Tonkatsu” pork cutlet and “Tamagoyaki” omelet.

Afterwards, we will show you how to make a bear design bento.
You will be delighted at its super cute looking, but of course you can arrange it to fit your personal taste.
Please enjoy the “cute-looking, good-tasting Bento” lunch.

*We pick you up at Shinjuku-gyoen-mae station (Tokyo Metro Marunouchi line) exit 2, outside after walking up the stairs. The cooking studio is 6-minute-walk from the cooking studio.

*We suggest you to visit Shinjuku Gyoen Garden after the class, just a couple of minute walk from the cooking studio.It is one of the national garden with historical architectures.The seasonal full bloom flowers there make you feel peaceful.

Sample Menu

• Tonkatsu – Pork cutlet. We use the Koji marinated pork as the ingredient
• Tamago-yaki – Omelet (Japanese style). It is one of the typical mother’s tastes in Japan.
• Seasonal vegetables marinated with Koji – Seasonal vegetables for quick side dish.You will know the simple usage of Koji for vegetables.
