Asahiyama Zoo closed days: April 8 to April 26, 2024, November 4th to November 10th, December 30th to January 1st, 2025. If Asahiyama Zoo is closed, the itinerary will change to Biei Mangrove (30 minutes) – Shikisai no Oka (50 minutes) – Biei Green Pond (30 minutes) – Shirasuga Falls (15 minutes)
Asahiyama Zoo is located in Asahikawa City, Hokkaido. It is the northernmost zoo in Japan and has become the most popular zoo in Japan. Visitors can get up close and personal with the animals through clever displays.

From April 1st to November 30th, tour will visit Biei Aoike (about 30 minutes)
Located on the left bank of the Biei River in Hokkaido, it was formed by a dam built to intercept volcanic magma. Under sunlight, the water in the pool will turn blue, giving it its name. Aoike was once photographed by National Geographic photographer Kent Shiraishi.

Forest Elf Terrace (about 30 minutes)
Ningle Terrace in Furano is a handmade forest experience workshop inspired by the character in the novels of Japanese writer Satoshi Kuramoto ( a 15cm elf living in a large forest). The cabins here are small shops one by one, selling unique small goods, basically all handmade, such as glass crafts, paper crafts, hand paintings, and crafts made of Furano’s dried lavender flowers. Each shop is small and exquisite, and everything is sold only here and there will not be a second one. The lights in the evening are very romantic.
Shikisai no Oka (Four Seasons Hill) is a flower garden on a hill carpeted with flowers from April to October. This feast for the eye features tulips, lupine, lavender, salvia, sunflowers, dahlia and Japanese anemone.
