Recommended sites include:
Osaka Castle: Symbol of the city and one of Japan’s most famous castles. The castle is situated in the center of Osaka and, as well as informative displays, offers souvenir shops and the opportunity to take pictures with warrior-attired staff outside.
Dotonbori: The city’s most famous shopping and entertainment district, famous for its historic theaters (all gone now), shops, and restaurants. This is where you will see the famed ‘Glico running man’ neon sign.
Shitennoji Temple: The oldest Buddhist temple in Japan, built in 593 by Prince Shotoku, who first brought in Buddhism to Japan. It maintains its original Asuka period design after careful reconstruction following many fires throughout the centuries.
Floating Garden Observatory (Umeda Sky Building): This spectacular high-rise building offers a great view of Osaka. The two 40-story main towers are connected at the top by bridges crossing an expansive atrium — the ‘floating garden’ — in the center.
Your tour concludes with a drop-off in a central location of your choosing.
