Arima Onsen is one of Japan’s three oldest hot springs located in Arima-cho, Kita Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. It was also counted as one of the three famous springs in The Pillow Book. In addition, in the Muromachi period, Banri Shukyu listed it as the “Three Famous Hot Springs” along with Kusatsu Onsen and Gero Onsen, and in the Edo period, Hayashi Razan also described these three hot springs as “Tenka’s Three Famous Hot Springs.”
