With a history of approximately 1,000 years, Bizen pottery is one of the six oldest kilns in Japan.
In this guided tour, you will not only meet Bizen pottery artists, but also learn about the roots of the region and the appeal of Bizen pottery from a knowledgeable guide.

“Schedule”
9:30 : Start tour at Imbe train station
9:35-10:00 : Viewing Bizen pottery (or visiting ancient kiln).
10:10-10:40 : Visit potter’s studio. profetional Bizen potters lecture what is Bizen pottery.
10:40-11:30 : Walking around historical Imbe area(Amatsu shrine etc.) .

You can see various Bizen pottery made by more than 30 potters in Bizen.

You will visit one of the master of Bizen potter’s studio . They give you a demonstration how to make Bizen pottery just in front of you.

The tour guide takes you to town walking where there are a lot of Bizen potter’s studios and kilns. You will also visit the old shrine which many Bizen pottery are used on the roof or walls.
