What makes Nostalgic Tokoname Pottery from Nagoya a unique experience ?

The Takita family was running one of Tokoname’s shipping agencies, built a residence facing Ise Bay in 1850.

You can enter a historically significant Japanese house.
If you’re lucky, you might be able to try on Japanese Happi jacket!

You can see a kiln was built around 1920 and pottery gallery made by local artists. (You may be able to paint a lucky cat yourself and bring one home, if booking is open! Let me know if you’re interested in booking this optional activity.)

Dokanzaka hill path is a unique and historic walking path made from shattered pieces of pottery. The Dokanzaka hill path and its surrounding area will be a great photo opportunity!

This may also be a good time for us to stop for a short break at a nearby cafe.

In this cultural district, we will see many Tokoname pottery galleries besides the specific locations I have recommended. Here, if any additional galleries, cafes, museums, or parks catch your eye, we can visit them!
