Stop At: Oasis 21, 1-11-1 Higashisakura, Higashi-Ku, Nagoya 461-0005 Aichi Prefecture

Located in the center of Nagoya, the shopping mall-cum-travel terminal of Oasis 21 is as beautiful as it is functional. Dubbed the ‘Space Ship Aqua’, it’s not difficult to see why, as it floats majestically above the ground.
Spread across four floors – including the rooftop – Oasis 21 is a park, bus terminal, shopping center, and performance venue all rolled into one. The bus, shops, and performance areas are all under the surface, leaving only the roof visible. The roof itself is designed to look like a floating space ship. When water is pumped through the structure, the light forms a unique pattern, an impressive show that visitors to the city shouldn’t miss.
Aside from its architectural beauty, Oasis 21 is a functioning shopping mall with various stores, restaurants, and cafes. At ground level, Oasis 21 is surrounded by a small park where visitors often take a break from the busy city. Located close to Aichi Arts Center and the NHK Nagoya Broadcasting Center, there’s more to see and do in the area than you might think.

Stop At: Sunshine Sakae, 3-24-4 Nishiki, Naka, Nagoya 460-0003 Aichi Prefecture

SUNSHINE SAKAE SHOPPING MALL OPENED IN 2005 IN THE HEART OF NAGOYA, AND IS LOCATED WEST OF OASIS 21 AND THE TV TOWER.
The six floors and basement of Sunshine Sakae are entirely dedicated to shopping and entertainment. In the basement, the “Grand Canyon” room, hosts concerts of idols (popular performers or musicians).

The group SKE48, the Nagoya version of AKB48, now has its own concert hall on the second floor, and a coffee shop on the fifth.

In the basement you will also find a Pachinko Parlour, Kyoraku, which goes all the way to the ground floor (first floor in Japan). Hardly surprising when one considers that it is in Nagoya that this slot machine game was first created.

You can browse the fourth floor shops, or go up to the fifth or sixth floors, where you will find various cafes, bars and restaurants.
