Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Pass By: Fukashi Shrine, 3-7-43 Fukashi, Matsumoto 390-0815 Nagano Prefecture

Fukashi Shrine is dedicated to two Shinto deities, Suwamiyojin (deity of wind, water and agriculture) and Tenjin (deity of scolarship). The Tenjin deity lends his name to the most famous festival at this shrine, the Tenjin Matsuri.

Pass By: Yamabe School Museum of History and Folklore, 2930-1, Satoyamabe, Matsumoto Nagano Prefecture

East of town the Susuki-gawa River runs down from the mountains, past the vineyards and rice fields and the stunning colors of the quiet Yamabe Valley. Get lost for a while as you explore the rich beauty of this very special slice of Matsumoto around the Matsumoto Folkcraft Museum.

Pass By: Nawate Shopping District, Matsumoto Nagano Prefecture

Nawate Street is a small traditional style street along the bank of the Metoba River. The unique small town spirit of Matsumoto City flourishes here among the row of tiny craft stores, groceries, food stands and casual eateries. It is also a pedestrian street free of vehicles, something quite rare in Japan and more reminiscent of an old European street where one might find many walk-up shops and cafes.

Pass By: Matsumoto Castle, 4-1 Marunouchi, Matsumoto 390-0873 Nagano Prefecture

With over 400 years of history, Matsumoto Castle is 1 of only 5 castles designated a “National Treasure” of Japan. The other 4 include Himeji, Hikone, Inuyama and Matsue Castles. The original construction dates from 1593 to 1594. The castle walls contain the oldest original five-tiered, six-story castle tower that still exists in Japan today.
