Let’s stop and close your eyes. Beautiful bamboo trunks and leaves touch each other by the morning breeze and make sounds that heal and your heart tenderly.

It is a famous temple which is the icon of Samurai culture. It once was a villa of retired shogun and transferred to a temple after his death. The main building covered with gold leaf itself is so beautiful which is next to none. In addition to that, the harmony with a pond and garden makes the scenery magnificent. When you come to Kyoto, you can’t miss this site.

This temple is rather small one for a temple in Kyoto, but its dry garden is well known as a representing Zen garden. Please sit on the veranda and gaze rocks and designed sand which lead you to a deep meditation as our ancestors experienced.
