We briefly look at Entoku-in temple where Nene, the wife of the shogun, lived for 19 years after his passing.
There two slopes or staircases are located in the middle of Higashiyama area of Kyoto. Around these slopes, there are many traditional and quaint houses.

This ancient temple has the landmark, Yasaka Pagoda or Yasaka no To. The current structure has been standing for almost 600 years, one of the oldest remaining wooden structures in Kyoto. The temple’s history has more than 1,400 years.
The temple is one of the 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kyoto. It is a must see place for tourists. It has a very famous protruding balcony.
