The top two floors of this building are covered with gold foil to show off the prosperity of the era when it was first built. GinkakuThe “Temple of the Silver Pavilion” is one of Kyoto’s World Heritage Sites. Unlike the “Golden Pavilion,” this temple is not covered in silver, even though that was the creator’s original intention. Instead, it is known for its beautiful Zen rock garden, traditional landscaping, and architecture.
