Stop At: Arashiyama, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto 616-0007 Kyoto Prefecture
In the west of Kyoto, we find our last stop at the foot of the mountains, the Arashiyama district. Here, the Katsura river flows out from between the hills and underneath the Togetsukyo Bridge, a great spot for looking up at the steep hills. It is especially popular in spring or autumn when the trees turn many different colors. It is also here you will find the famous bamboo grove. Its large size surrounds you on all sides with bamboo and you might forget how close the city actually is.
