The buildings within Akarenga Park, initially constructed from 1900-1921, as storage warehouses for the Maizuru Naval Base, offer a glimpse into Japan’s historical industrial advancements. Marvel at the architectural ingenuity and the meticulous construction despite the rapid pace of the works.
Wander through a village where many thatched-roofed houses, built 150 to 220 years ago during the Edo and Meiji periods, are wonderfully preserved.
