Itinerary
We will make sandals for Nanashiru instructed by Chika Iwakiri, a writer of Kunisaki Nishijima.
The rare material transmitted to the Kunisaki Peninsula, which is recognized as a World Agricultural Heritage site, is the raw material for tatami mats that is produced nationwide only in Kunisaki. Very durable, the more you use it, the more it will taste.
Also appeared as an important subject in a novel “Sui no Ki” based on this region. We make sandals using this “Nanashima Rushi”.
Please feel the culture of Kunisaki, where gentle time flows under gentle and enjoyable lectures by Mr. Iwakiri, a craftsman of Nanami Shimajima who conveys tradition.
