Itinerary

This workshop takes place at Mitsusuke, a Higo Zogan studio founded in 1874. Mitsusuke has produced some of Kumamoto’s most famous Higo Zogan pieces, including the medals for the Women’s 2019 World Handball Championships.

Higo Zogan originally developed as a way to decorate weaponry. These same traditional techniques and patterns are now used on a number of modern-day pieces, including fountain pens, necklaces, brooches, watches, and more. Join us at Mitsusuke to learn about this samurai art and make your own piece of history.
