Takoyaki Doraku Wanaka Kishiwada: A shop selling “Takoyaki” which is flour based round snack with pieces of octopus in it. It is an iconic food of Osaka and this shop is a branch of a shop that was listed on the Michelin guide of Osaka Kyoto!

Stop At: Takojizo St., 16 Kishikicho, Kishiwada, Osaka 596-0073, Japan

Jyurokken Nagaya: A 120 meters long Japanese architecture which 16 houses exit in separated from each other by a thin wall. It was built in a castle about 100 years ago. There are still many people living here, so you can see the old-fashioned lifestyle!

Mansard Nagaya: Nagaya is a Japanese style apartment complex, but this Nagaya is unique in that it is built in Western style. You can see the Kishiwada castle from the house so you feel that this place used to be a castle town.

A castle in a common Japanese architect style. The attraction is the Japanese garden which is beautiful no matter which angle you will look it from. You will realize that it has a unique shape when taking a look at it from the top of the castle. This castle and garden are unique to Kishiwada!

Stop At: Kishiki Shrine, 11-30 Kishikicho, Kishiwada 596-0073 Osaka Prefecture

A shrine which is a sacred place of the “Danjiri” festival. There are many Japanese-like things suitable for souvenirs such as amulets with straps and votive pictures of “Danjiri”.

Stop At: 岸和田藩薬園跡, 27-27 Kishikichō, Kishiwada, Osaka 596-0073, Japan

Ganko Kishiwada Gofuso: A Japanese architecture and garden that was built in 1029. It is listed on the city’s best spots list and it has three rooms for Japanese traditional tea ceremony in the stroll garden with a central pond. Now a restaurant is in charge of this building but just visiting the garden is enjoyable enough.

Stop At: Kishiwada Danjiri Kaikan, 11-23 Honmachi, Kishiwada 596-0074 Osaka Prefecture

A local history museum built to let people experience “Danjiri” no matter the season, the date. (Danjiri is held in the fall for only two days a year) you can wear traditional clothes for the festival and hit the Japanese drum!

Takoyaki Sumiyoshi: A takoyaki shop popular among locals and said to be the best in Osaka. Being located in a residential area, you won’t be able to find it without otomo tour guide.

Stop At: Machizukuri Museum, 8-8 Honmachi, Kishiwada 596-0074 Osaka Prefecture

There are nice houses at the “Honmachi” street with clay roof tiles. To maintain this district, residents are still cooperating with each other. Let’s take a break at this facility where you can rest freely.

Stop At: Kishiwada Nature Musium, 6-5 Sakaimachi, Kishiwada 596-0072 Osaka Prefecture

A museum where you can learn about the greenery of Kishiwada and the world. You can also make a creature with a Japanese handcraft “Origami”. The main attraction of this facility is stuffed animals which they have hundreds of. Lions, tigers, elephants and other animals are waiting for you!
