The Chirihama Nagisa Driveway is a sandy beach on the western edge of the Noto Peninsula that is open to cars. Traffic runs in both directions on the 8-kilometer stretch that runs alongside the Sea of Japan.

Wajima City (輪島) is the largest city in the Okunoto region, which makes up the northern half of the Noto Peninsula. The city is centered around a protected harbor on the Sea of Japan coast and is most famous for its morning market and lacquerware.

This is an integrated facility with studios for making the wooden bases for lacquerware, and painting on the lacquer, to make traditional Wajima lacquerware. Visitors can actually go to the studios to meet the craftspeople to learn about the charms of Wajima lacquerware. Visitors can also try their hand at painting on pictures, which they may take home as souvenirs.

Shiroyone Senmaida (A Thousand Rice Paddies in Shiroyone) is the rice terraces located in Shiroyone town, Wajima City of Ishikawa Prefecture. The scenery of 1,004 small rice paddies on steep slopes along the seaside is splendid, and thus famous among the many other rice terraces in Japan. Shiroyone Senmaida was selected as one of “Japan’s Top 100 Terraced Rice Paddies” and nationally designated a “Special Place of Scenic Beauty”. In June 2011, it was also registered to Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (GIAHS).
