In Gifu Prefecture, it was transmitted to the Hida and Tono regions. The shape and sauce varies depending on the region, and the Hida region is “waraji-shape(oval)” and “egoma(sesame)sauce” is the mainstream. It is said that the boiled rice is crushed and skewered, and then painted with egoma sauce and charcoal-grilled. It was dedicated to festivals and celebrations during the Edo period.
