Hakata Station: This is the gateway to Kyushu. The station is surrounded by large mall stores and hotels. It also has convenient access to Fukuoka Airport and Hakata Port. Enjoy one of the largest stations in Japan!

Stop At: Kushida Shrine, 1-41 Kamikawabatamachi, Hakata, Fukuoka 812-0026 Fukuoka Prefecture
Kushida Shrine: One of Hakata’s representative shrines with a history of more than 1,200 years, is a famous power spot in Fukuoka.
It’s also a great place to see the Hakata Gion Yamakasa, a traditional Hakata festival, decorated with the Yamakasa, a large portable shrine used in the festival. You can’t miss the gorgeous mikoshi (portable shrine) with plenty of dolls and ornaments made by craftsmen.

Tenjin Underground Shopping Center: This is a huge mall located in the center of Fukuoka. The mall has more than 150 stores and is crowded with residents and tourists. The distinctive atmosphere of this underground mall was created by imitating 19th century Europe, with stone-paved floors, the arabesque pattern on the ceiling, and the low-lighting.

Daimyo: Here is the second most famous street in Fukuoka. This is a street that used to be popular as a castle town. However, it is now a popular place for young people to shop for stylish goods and apparel. Walk into a store that you’re interested in and buy some of the cutting edge merchandise as a souvenir.

Fukuoka Castle Ruins: Fukuoka Castle, built in the Edo period, was the largest castle in Kyushu. Some of the buildings on the site are designated as national important cultural properties. In the spring, it is a place of relaxation for the local people with 1,000 cherry trees in full bloom.
