Fukuoka Trip Overview

Stop At: Hakata Traditional Craft and Design Museum, 3-chōme-1-1 Momochihama, Sawara Ward, Fukuoka, 814-0001, Japan
You will first learn about Hakata-ori and Hakata Ningyo here. They exhibit craftworks and you can learn about the history of them! At the shop next to this facility, you can buy small craftworks and a set that makes you able to make a Hakata-ori yourself!

Stop At: Hakatamachiya Furusatokan, 6-10 Reisenmachi, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka, 812-0039, Japan
Hakata Machiya Furusato-kan: A exhibition facility using a traditional Japanese house. You can observe how craftsmen actually work and ask them questions! Your guide will translate your question!

Stop At: Kushida Shrine, 1-41 Kamikawabatamachi, Hakata, Fukuoka 812-0026 Fukuoka Prefecture
A shrine with a long history. It is the starting point of the “Hakata Gion Yamakasa”: the traditional festival in Hakata and the wooden festival car used in the festival is displayed here! Make sure to take a close look at the gorgeous festival car with dolls and ornaments made by craftsmen!
