This Goshogozen is a sacred spot said to be the place where Sumiyoshi Daijin was first enshrined when he was enthroned about 1,800 years ago. It is said that if you find a pebble there with the words “Go,” “Dai,” and “Riki” painted on it and make it your charm, you will receive strength, wisdom, wealth, fortune, and longevity.
If you find a pebble with three characters on it, put it in your amulet and take it home.
If your wish comes true, it is customary to double the size of the stone and return it to Goshogozen together with the stone you picked up.
