Chuo City Trip Overview
We will learn how to make itayauma, a traditional Japanese toy, with the Product Designer En!
Itayauma date back to Edo period (1603 – 1868) in Akita prefecture (precisely in Kakunodatemachi, Senboku city), a folk toy with 200 years of history!
It was originally made weaving some strips of a beautiful tree trunk called itayakaede (commonly known as “painted maple”).
In this workshop, we will Upcycle unnecessary paper bags and wrapping papers to create a unique interior design product!
Choose the colors and the patterns which you prefer and gives life to a very original itayauma that only you can make!
Join us comfortably from home and create a piece of modern Japanese art.
