Itinerary

Enjoy the coloring experience with traditional technique of Wajima lacquerware, “Chinkin.” You can choose your favorite patterns from four choices (flowers, butterflies, pine needles, and waves) for the chopsticks or five (fireworks, grapes, flowers, butterflies, and bush clovers) for the spoon. Rest assured, even if you have sensitive skin. Substitutive lacquer that would not cause skin rash is used for the painting. Instructions in English and Traditional Chinese are available as a handout, so you do not have to worry about the procedure details. The staff can explain in Japanese and some in English.
Why not explore the museum before the workshop? You will gain more insight into lacquer and Chinkin, and your experience will be more enjoyable.

As an option, there is a bicycle rental service. You can explore the city of Wajima beside the museum. Of course, you can create more chopsticks or spoons for souvenirs.
